A Technologist in computer vision and deep learning at the Technologies of Vision research laboratory in Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK)

Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) is a private research institution devoted to excellence in research in numerous disciplines and designated to the role of keeping the Autonomous Province of Trento in the mainstream of European and international research. The Foundation’s research activities are structured into twelve research centers, each dedicated to a specific area. Information regarding the research centers, their activities and production is available at http://www.fbk.eu/research-centers.

Workplace

The Digital Industry (DI) Center, one of the Centers of the Bruno Kessler Foundation, focuses its research on digital technologies for the manufacturing industry by creating applications for critical systems, adaptive and autonomous systems, advanced perception, diagnostics, and prediction systems. The research in the DI centre also involves fields related to digital agriculture, cultural heritage, and geomatics.
The Technologies of Vision (TeV) research laboratory conducts research in the fields of Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Robotic Perception. TeV focuses on developing techniques for 2D and 3D scene understanding, including classification, detection, segmentation, tracking, foundation models, large multimodal models, and neural rendering. Its research has applications in various domains:

  • Manufacturing: quality control, robotic manipulation, 3D scene understanding.
  • Agritech: drone imaging, 3D reconstruction, detection and segmentation.
  • Security: document analysis and verification.
  • Automation: object 6D pose estimation, visual language assistants, embedded reasoning.

More information about the TeV lab is available at https://tev.fbk.eu.

FBK actively seeks diversity and inclusion in the workplace and is also committed to promoting gender equality. To promote the inclusion of disabled staff as per law 68/99, the Foundation is available and interested in evaluating the applications received for technical-scientific domains that do not correspond exactly to this call.
