The
Centre for Sustainable Energy
is looking for a young student interested in a master's thesis experience in the field of Sustainable Energy.
This master thesis opportunity focuses on the optimization of Balance of Plant (BoP) components for reversible Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) systems, aiming to enhance the overall efficiency and performance of these advanced energy conversion devices. Reversible SOC systems have garnered significant attention for their potential to facilitate efficient and sustainable energy storage and conversion by seamlessly switching between electrolysis mode (producing hydrogen) and fuel cell mode (generating electricity from hydrogen). However, the successful integration of reversible SOC systems into practical applications requires careful design and optimization of the supporting BoP infrastructure to ensure optimal system operation, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Planned Activities
The activities include modelica model and validation and simualtion activities in HEX with mulitple fuel inlet and BoP optimization.
Requirements
Enrolled in master’s degree in energy Engineering, or equivalent;
Good knowledge on physics;
Good knowledge on modelling dynamic adn steaday state and optimization;
Basic programming skills.
